BurnBid is a leaderboard you buy your way onto. So is outbid.lol, which came first and which this site is an answer to. The idea there is simple and it works: pay more than the person above you and you are above them.
The problem is what happens next. Whatever you paid for is gone the moment somebody pays more, and there is no end — the board can keep taking money from the same people forever, and every position on it is temporary by design.
So this one is finite
BurnBid started with $150,000 and will never have a cent more. Positions are sold out of that pool, and $1,500 a day burns whether anyone buys or not. When it reaches zero the board freezes: the order stops, the entries stop, and the page stays online exactly as it ended.
That is the whole difference. Here, the thing you bought is still there on the last day — because there is a last day, and it can be computed today. The rules explain the multiplier and the arithmetic.
